Why We Still Choose to Go to the Moon: Astro Teller and Andy Karsner at Rice University
The Rice University President’s Lectures Series featured Astro Teller, a leading American scientist, inventor, entrepreneur and author known for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. As the “Captain of Moonshots” at X, the Moonshot Factory (formerly Google X), he leads teams on a mission to invent and launch breakthrough technologies that tackle some of humanity’s toughest challenges. Teller joined Rice alumnus Andy Karsner '89, an energy industry leader and an advisor to X and the Moonshot Factory, in a panel discussion titled “Why We Still Choose to Go to the Moon: Innovation for Today’s Challenges.” President Reginald DesRoches moderated the discussion.
